This post is about an ISRO scientist who got inspired by the great poet Mahakavi Bharathi. By meeting him I reverberated a sense of positivity around the hall that makes me feel good. I would like to narrate such a series of event to the world, eventually leading to add some life to my existence.

Ripping apart my philosophies, I came to know that a great scientist going to arrive at the lecture hall of Anna centenary library. I used to go to this library for my lectureship exam preparation. I found that the weekly ritual of Anna centenary library called “pon maalai pozhuthu” is nearing the 100th special episode. So they were inviting the most celebrated scientist of Tamilnadu Dr.Mayilswamy Annadurai.

As soon as i came to know, I was constantly thinking about the ways and means to interact with him. I started writing some questions that pops up in my mind after reffering his wikipedia page. But soon i found that whatever preparation i done to ask him questions sounds too technical regarding his famous mission on moon called chandraayan, and his involvement in Mars orbiter mission (MOM). The nations first successful attempt to Mars has been widely acclaimed by scientific community world wide.

The day of his arrival progresses quickly and suddenly i told myself that all such prepared questions are useless and seems too technical. This feeling tend to rephrase the question after his arrival to library. When I heard his introductory remarks, I was astonished. Most of his prepared speech comprises of the verses of Mahakavi bharathi. I was keenly listening to his speech and got struck by his level of inspiration, which he obtained from Bharathi’s poem. He named the title of his speech as “tamizhum nilavum” which eventually became the title of this post.

After about an hour I felt enthused by his speech. I really got connected with him when he uttered a poem

நல்லதோர் வீணைசெய்தே ….” . I dont know why but this poem constantly plays in me with a melancholic strain in it. Thanks to music composer illayaraja who composed for this poem in a movie named bharathi. I feel it would be a great injustice if i did not a add a reference link that adds aura to my life.

Then comes the question and answer session. Here everyone was asking about the mission and its accomplishments. It was in a way informative but i can assure you that was not inspiring. Suddenly i remembered an abdulkalam inspiration of he explaining about leadership. As a prodigy of ISRO I felt Dr. Mayilsamy would have met Dr. APJ abdul kalam and draws his own inspiration. So I shifted my question from techie to narrate the same incidence to him.

Here comes the climax. Whatever I prepared got useless but my spirit to ask question alone survives. I shooted him by saying that incident where Dr. abdul kalam’s first mission was failiure but his leader dr. vikram sarabhai did not let affect the team during press conference. He replied “as the technology was newly adopted from russia such technical failiure happens”.

This kindled the spirit in Dr.Abdul kalam and enable him to work tirelessly and completed the mission successfully. This was the incident i narrated to him within a short period of given time for question and answer session.

While answering prof.Dr.Mayilsamy corrected me by saying that it was not vikram sarabhai but it was satish dhawan. I was little embarrased infront of the crowd. But later i felt alright as I did not refer that kalam’s video. I had seen long time before with a conviction of fulfilling the purpose. It is nothing but I utilised the opportunity to ask him a question while many was present just physically. Morethan which, only the question I asked him and his reply for that questioned generated a positive vibration among audience as they clapped for Dr.Mailsamy’s reply.

Then he told me apart from his father and Mahakavi, his inspiration was Dr. APJ abdul kalam. He also narrated me similar incident where every other scientist was apprasing him about the success of his chandraayan mission, Dr. APJ was enquiring him about his next mission. That’s how leaders are they never get tired of doing their work. When we did not find our work to be soulful we are just “social animas” with worldly commitments.

This happened just before tamil new year and I felt will i will shine in forthcoming time with the hope of being a better human every day. With such goodness I came outside the lecture hall to find a way to go to rest room. It was my biological urge to urinateas i got mespmerised my self in the hall of thinking about all such poems and how a man got inspired fro literature to pursue science.
